Job Description:
Clearfield Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Manager to oversee and implement safety protocols for our client's workforce, including roofers, scaffolders, and electrical workers. The role will involve developing, implementing, and monitoring health and safety procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and mitigate risks associated with our client's operations.

Responsibilities:

Risk Assessment and Management:

Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for various tasks and activities associated with renewable energy projects.
Develop risk management strategies to minimize workplace hazards and ensure the safety of employees.
Safety Compliance:

Stay abreast of health and safety regulations relevant to the renewable energy industry.
Ensure the company's compliance with all health and safety legislation and standards.
Training and Education:

Develop and deliver health and safety training programs for employees, focusing on safe working practices and emergency procedures.
Provide guidance and support to employees on health and safety matters.
Incident Investigation:

Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Maintain records of incidents and ensure timely reporting to relevant authorities.
Safety Inspections:

Conduct regular site inspections to assess compliance with health and safety policies and identify areas for improvement.
Collaborate with project managers and supervisors to address safety concerns and implement corrective measures.
Emergency Preparedness:

Develop emergency response plans and procedures for various scenarios, such as fires, chemical spills, or medical emergencies.
Coordinate drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of emergency protocols.
Qualifications:

Proven experience in health and safety management, preferably in the construction or renewable energy sector.
Knowledge of health and safety legislation and regulations relevant to the UK.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
NEBOSH or equivalent health and safety certification is highly desirable.
Demonstrated ability to conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety audits.
Effective problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
