Job Summary:

Clearfield Recruitment, on behalf of our client in Chelmsford, is seeking a highly motivated Streetworks Operative to join our client's team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient execution of streetworks activities in compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform streetworks operations including excavation, reinstatement, and repairs in accordance with NRSWA (New Roads and Street Works Act) regulations.

Ensure that all streetworks activities are carried out safely, following health and safety guidelines, and using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Set up and maintain traffic management measures as required, including road closures, traffic diversions, and signage.

Operate and maintain various equipment and tools used in streetworks operations, such as road saws, jackhammers, and compactors.

Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to coordinate streetworks projects efficiently and resolve any issues or obstacles that may arise.

Inspect and maintain the condition of streetworks sites, reporting any defects or hazards to the appropriate authorities.

Complete all necessary paperwork, including permits, work orders, and incident reports accurately and in a timely manner.

Attend training and certification programs to stay updated on streetworks regulations and best practices.

Qualifications:

Valid Streetworks Operative qualification (NRSWA) is essential.
Previous experience in streetworks or related construction roles is preferred.
A valid driver's license is desirable.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to streetworks is a plus.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labour in various weather conditions.
Flexibility in work hours to accommodate emergency repairs or project deadlines.
