Overview

A prestigious regional main contractor in West Yorkshire are looking for an ambitious Senior Quantity Surveyor with at least 8 years experience to join their team, due to consistent growth plans and a healthy pipeline of regional projects.

This is a great opportunity for an individual to join a tight-knit team of collaborative individuals working on projects ranging in value from £1-10m.

The role will provide a high degree of versatility with opportunities to gain exposure to different types of construction; working throughout the commercial, education, retail and leisure sectors.

With structured progression pathways in place for the successful candidate, alongside a strong emphasis on training and development; they provide a great platform to develop and learn from peers with vast amounts of combined industry experience from major and regional contractors.

You will have responsibility for various elements of the surveying function across our developments, to assist in the delivery and cost-effective completion of our schemes.

Responsibilities:
- Undertake procurement of the Sub-Contract elements of the development.
- Preparation of Sub-Contract and Supplier documentation for approval.
- Assisting the Project Managers with the financial implications of site progress decisions.
- Preparing tender lists for approval from an approved supply chain.
- Continuous monitoring of costs and changes against cost plans, reporting these back to the business when required to.
- Liaising with the development team to ensure design concepts and proposals are developed in line with the approved budgets.
- Liaising with all members of the project team, including but not limited to construction, development, sales, marketing and finance.
- Build strong relationships with external, consultants, suppliers and authorities and form strong partnerships.



You will be motivated with a positive can do' attitude, who shows a willingness to learn new skills whilst also having the ability to work on their own initiative to generate solutions.

You will be comfortable in dealing with a changing environment and be able to work under reasonable levels of pressure.



You'll be active, flexible and adaptable as part of a small team, with excellent communication and organisational skills.


Understanding of design and construction techniques.


Highly IT literate, including intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

You are likely to be qualified to degree level qualified in Quantity Surveying.
