Quantity Surveyor in Stanway

Overview

Clearfield Recruitment are exclusively recruiting a Quantity Surveyor in Essex.

Our client is a highly reputable Commercial contractor recruiting an established Intermediate Surveyor, or a Senior Surveyor (Salary dependant on experience, and level).

Sites will include covering small domestic works, commercial works (warehouses, offices etc). Value of works may range from £500k-10million.

Responsibilities:
Managing the commercials of up to 3 or 4 sites on one go
Prepare accurate valuations, budgets, and reports for projects
Conduct detailed cost analysis, identifying areas for cost optimisation and value engineering.
Manage and negotiate contracts with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients
Monitor project costs, providing regular cost reports and forecasts to senior management.
Evaluate and negotiate variations, claims, and settlements with subcontractors
Collaborate closely with project teams, including architects, engineers, and contractors, to address commercial issues and mitigate risks.
Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and monitor contract performance.
Provide commercial support and guidance throughout the project lifecycle, including procurement, cost control, and contract administration.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in surveying.
Maintain accurate project documentation, including records of variations, claims, and contract correspondence.

What you'll need to succeed
Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor is essential.
Strong knowledge of quantity surveying practices, including cost control, procurement, and contract administration.
Proven ability to prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets, ensuring profitability and cost control.
Previous experience of QS Systems - Understanding IT
Strong negotiation and communication skills,
Ability to maintain supplier and sub-contract relationships
Ability to work effectively in a team
