Overview

My client are a Building Contractor based in Bury St Edmunds and build to an exceptional standard in and around Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex, they cover a wide range of building and construction projects including new home builds, house design, renovations and extensions, house refurbishments, heritage refurbishments, home maintenance, commercial construction and public spaces and social housing, all throughout East Anglia. They also provide an expert full design and build' service.

The ideal candidate will be a part or fully qualified Accounting Technician, with suitable experience. Someone who has the capability of preparing accounts to trial balance and subsequently able to produce management accounts for consolidation. In addition, the candidate will have experience of using bespoke accounting packages and have an aptitude for developing systems and processes.
Responsibilities:
• Preparing monthly management accounts including prepayments and accruals
• Review and explain variances to budgets
• Produce financial and operational reports and analysis for management
• Prepare monthly financial reconciliations
• Assist in the production of budgets and forecasts
• cashflow forecasting
• Statutory reporting including VAT, PAYE, CIS etc
• Maintain and cover the sales Ledger and purchase Ledger
• Year end audit preparation
• Assist the Finance Director
• Other ad hoc tasks
In Addition:
• Assisting in the implementation and ongoing support of new operational and accounting software and systems.
• Developing and monitoring new processes
• Support in the identification and evaluation of new systems
Requirements:
• Part AAT, or QBE would be considered
• Excellent IT skills, particularly with Excel and data analysis
• Experience of working in a similar role, with thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures. Aswell as an understanding of general ledger transactions and month end / year end processes
Experience within the Construction Industry would be advantages as well as experience with using EVO-M, SIMPRO or Xero.
Package:
• Full time - 8.30am to 5.00pm - with 1 hour for Lunch
• Free Parking
• Statutory Pension
• Salary Range 26k - 32k depending on experience.
• 22 Days Holiday
