Overview
Job Title: Finishing Groundworker
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Finishing Groundworker to join our construction team. As a Finishing Groundworker, you will be responsible for completing the final stages of groundwork on construction projects, ensuring that all finishing touches are executed to the highest standards. Your primary focus will be on tasks such as laying paving, installing curbs, and undertaking landscaping activities. The ideal candidate should have a strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the construction team to complete all aspects of finishing groundwork, ensuring adherence to project specifications and timelines.
Lay and finish concrete slabs, pathways, and curbs, ensuring proper alignment and leveling.
Install and maintain drainage systems, including pipe laying and connecting.
Assist with the installation of utility services such as water and gas lines, as required.
Carry out manual excavation and backfilling as necessary.
Perform tasks related to landscaping, including turfing, planting, and general site beautification.
Utilize various hand and power tools to complete assigned tasks.
Ensure accuracy and precision in the finishing touches, paying attention to details such as edging, jointing, and sealing.
Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as bricklayers and carpenters, to coordinate tasks and ensure a smooth workflow.
Comply with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Report any issues, hazards, or incidents to the supervisor or site manager promptly.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Groundworker, with a focus on finishing and landscaping.
Strong understanding of construction principles, techniques, and materials.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Excellent manual dexterity and physical stamina, capable of performing physically demanding tasks.
Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the construction industry.
Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and work schedules.
