Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Finishing Groundworker to join our team in Eye, Suffolk. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks to ensure the completion of construction projects with a focus on the finishing touches. The Finishing Groundworker will work collaboratively with the construction team to achieve high-quality results and timely project completion.
Responsibilities:
Execute finishing work on construction projects, including but not limited to, pathways, driveways, patios, and landscaping.
Operate a variety of hand and power tools to perform tasks such as paving, brickwork, concreting, and block laying.
Ensure accurate measurement and alignment of materials to meet project specifications.
Install and maintain various landscaping elements, such as garden beds, turf, and decorative features.
Apply finishing touches, including sealing, painting, and surface treatments to enhance the appearance and durability of completed projects.
Collaborate with the construction team to coordinate tasks and meet project deadlines.
Assist in site preparation, excavation, and groundwork as required.
Adhere to health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Identify and report any issues, defects, or improvements related to the project.
Maintain tools and equipment in good condition and report any malfunctions.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Groundworker, with a strong emphasis on finishing work.
Solid knowledge of various construction materials, techniques, and tools used in finishing tasks.
Ability to read and interpret construction plans and drawings.
Proficiency in operating a range of hand and power tools.
Physical fitness and stamina to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
Understanding of health and safety regulations and the ability to implement them on the job.
Valid driver's license may be required.
Relevant certifications or licenses are a plus.
