Overview
Job Title: Finishing Groundworker (with Dumper Ticket)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Finishing Groundworker with a valid Dumper Ticket to join our construction team. As a Finishing Groundworker, you will be responsible for performing a range of tasks to ensure the completion of construction projects to high standards. Your primary focus will be on providing the finishing touches to the groundwork, ensuring accuracy and precision in the final stages of construction. Operating the dumper will also be a crucial aspect of the role. The ideal candidate should have a strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the construction team to complete all aspects of finishing groundwork, ensuring adherence to project specifications and timelines.
Perform site preparation tasks, including clearing debris, leveling the ground, and removing obstacles.
Lay and finish concrete slabs, pathways, and curbs, ensuring proper alignment and leveling.
Install and maintain drainage systems, including pipe laying and connecting.
Assist with the installation of utility services such as water and gas lines, as required.
Operate a dumper to transport materials, earth, and debris across the construction site, ensuring safe and efficient movement.
Carry out manual excavation and backfilling as necessary.
Perform tasks related to landscaping, including turfing, planting, and general site beautification.
Utilize various hand and power tools to complete assigned tasks.
Comply with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Report any issues, hazards, or incidents to the supervisor or site manager promptly.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Groundworker, preferably with a focus on finishing and landscaping.
Valid Dumper Ticket/CPCS Card.
Proficient in the operation of a dumper, with the ability to maneuver and transport materials effectively.
Strong understanding of construction principles, techniques, and materials.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Excellent manual dexterity and physical stamina, capable of performing physically demanding tasks.
Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the construction industry.
Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and work schedules.
