Title: Building Surveyor
Job Summary: A Building Surveyor is responsible for inspecting buildings to ensure they meet legal and safety requirements, identifying any defects, and providing advice on repairs and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting building surveys and inspections to assess the condition of buildings and identifying any defects or safety issues
- Providing advice on repairs, maintenance, and renovation projects
- Preparing detailed reports on building surveys, including recommendations for repairs and maintenance
- Liaising with clients, architects, and contractors to discuss and advise on building issues
- Inspecting building plans and specifications to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations
- Conducting site inspections to ensure compliance with building regulations and safety standards
- Keeping up-to-date with changes in building regulations and legislation
Requirements:
- Degree in building surveying, engineering, or a related field
- Professional accreditation with a recognized industry body
- Strong knowledge of building regulations and safety standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Experience using building surveying software and tools
