Job Summary:

Clearfield is currently recruiting on behalf of a client for a skilled bricklayer to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for laying bricks, building walls, and other structures as per the project specifications. The ideal candidate should have a strong work ethic, be physically fit, and possess excellent problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

• Read plans and project specifications to determine the layout of structures
• Measure and mark surfaces to lay out work according to blueprints and drawings
• Mix mortar and other construction materials
• Build walls, arches, and other structures by laying bricks or precast masonry units
• Cut and trim bricks and concrete blocks to size using hand and power tools
• Apply and smooth mortar or other adhesives to bind and seal joints between bricks or other masonry units
• Remove excess mortar and clean brick surfaces using hand and power tools
• Repair and maintain existing masonry structures as needed
• Work with other construction professionals, such as carpenters and electricians, to complete projects
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment

Requirements:

• Completion of an apprenticeship or equivalent training program
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in bricklaying
• Knowledge of masonry techniques, tools, and materials
• Ability to read plans and project specifications
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Physical ability to lift and move heavy materials
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
