Job Title: Tacker's Mate

Job Summary:
As a Tacker's Mate, you will provide essential support to Tackers in the construction industry by assisting with the preparation, organization, and execution of tacking tasks. Your primary responsibilities will involve handling materials, preparing work areas, operating tools and equipment, and ensuring a smooth workflow. A strong work ethic, physical stamina, and the ability to follow instructions are crucial for this role.

Responsibilities:

• Assist Tackers in measuring, marking, and aligning materials according to project specifications.
• Gather and transport materials to the work area, ensuring they are properly organized and readily accessible.
• Operate hand and power tools under the guidance and supervision of Tackers, following safety protocols and guidelines.
• Prepare surfaces and materials for tacking by cleaning, sanding, or applying adhesive or other necessary preparations.
• Hold materials in place as directed by Tackers during tacking operations, ensuring proper alignment and stability.
• Hand tools and materials to Tackers as needed, anticipating their requirements to maintain workflow efficiency.
• Assist in the setup and dismantling of scaffolding, ladders, or other access equipment.
• Clean and maintain tools and equipment, reporting any defects or damages to Tackers or supervisors.
• Remove debris, waste materials, and other items from the work area to maintain cleanliness and safety.
• Follow established safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Communicate effectively with Tackers and other team members to ensure a smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks.
• Learn and develop skills related to tacking techniques, materials, and tools under the guidance of Tackers.
• Maintain a positive and cooperative attitude, fostering a productive and harmonious work environment.
• Assist in other construction-related tasks as directed by Tackers or supervisors.
