Job Summary:
As a Multitrader, you will be a versatile and skilled professional who can perform various maintenance, repair, and installation tasks across different trades. Your expertise in multiple areas such as carpentry, plumbing, painting, tiling, and general construction will be essential in addressing a wide range of property maintenance needs. Strong technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and a customer-focused approach are key for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance, repair, and installation tasks across multiple trades, including but not limited to carpentry, plumbing, painting, tiling, and general construction.
- Assess and diagnose issues with various systems and components, such as plumbing fixtures, electrical outlets, doors, windows, and surfaces.
- Utilize a wide range of tools, equipment, and techniques to complete assigned tasks efficiently and effectively.
- Conduct inspections to identify areas requiring maintenance, repair, or improvement, and provide recommendations to clients or supervisors.
- Install, assemble, or replace fixtures, fittings, appliances, and equipment in accordance with specifications and safety standards.
- Carry out carpentry tasks, including framing, finishing, cabinet installation, door and window fitting, and general woodworking.
- Undertake basic plumbing tasks, such as repairing leaks, replacing faucets, clearing blockages, and installing fixtures.
- Perform painting and decorating tasks, including surface preparation, application of paint or wallpaper, and touch-ups.
- Tile and grout surfaces, such as floors, walls, and backsplashes, ensuring proper alignment and finish.
- Conduct minor electrical tasks, such as replacing switches, outlets, and light fixtures, adhering to safety guidelines.
- Repair or replace damaged drywall, plaster, or other wall and ceiling materials.
- Install or repair flooring materials, such as tiles, laminates, or vinyl, ensuring a professional and even finish.
- Collaborate and coordinate with other tradespeople, subcontractors, or team members to ensure smooth project workflow.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing client inquiries, concerns, and requests promptly and professionally.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each task.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards in all work performed.
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends, new materials, technologies, and best practices through continuous learning and professional development.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Multitrader or in multiple trade-related roles, preferably in the maintenance, repair, or construction industry.
- Strong knowledge and practical experience in carpentry, plumbing, painting, tiling, and general construction tasks.
- Proficient in using a wide range of hand and power tools relevant to multiple trades.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, or specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues effectively.
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting heavy objects and working in various positions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients, team members, and subcontractors.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, meeting deadlines and customer expectations.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and the ability to follow safety guidelines.
- Full UK driving license and reliable transportation to travel to different job sites.
- Relevant trade qualifications, certifications, or apprenticeship training are desirable.
- Valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card or other relevant industry certifications are advantageous.
